Coats of Arms in the Aylesbury family

The coat of arms sketched comes from the memorial erected at Breda to Sir Thomas Aylesbury (ca1580-1657). Those with more expertise than I have attempted to describe the arms as below:
    Quarterly
    • 1st and 4th Azure a cross Argent,
    • 2nd Argent two bars Gules over all a bendlet Azure,
    • 3rd Gules a saltire Argent cantoned by four tridents (?).
    Over all
    • on the honour {or nombril?} point an escutcheon charged with (?a baronet's badge)
    • and on the fess point an escutcheon Argent'
    The Crest - A dragon's head Or {or couped Argent?} gorged with three bars {or rings?} Gules.'
Of these the 1st and 4th quarters show the ancient Aylesbury arms, but I don't know the origins of the other quarters.

Can anyone identify the families whose arms were:
  • Argent two bars Gules over all a bendlet Azure
  • Gules a saltire Argent contoned by four tridents

Hopefully these may give clues as to part of the family ancestry?
Examples of any variants of the arms would also be welcome. The version illustrated here was asserted some years ago by a firm of 'researchers' to be the 'standard' form of the arms. In reality there is no 'standard' form but it serves to indicate the style to expect.

Ancient grants of arms give the following details:
  • C13/C14 - Walter de Ailesbury: Arg. a plain crosse Azure
  • C14 - Roger de Ailesbury: Arg. a plain crosse Azure a Labell of 3 points
  • C14 - John de Ailesbury: Azure a cross Argent
  • Harl Soc Visit Notts 1569 & 1614 - arms Aylesbury: Az a cross Arg

The Arms of The seal used by Revd Thomas Aylesbury in the C17 bore the style of the ancient arms with a mark of difference - a crescent - in the first quarter, indicating a line of descent through a second son.

The arms of Anne Hyde, granddaughter of Sir Thomas Aylesbury, and wife of James II, include the Aylesbury arms.

The reversal of the arms within some of those detailed above was also evident within the arms granted to an heir of the Packwood estates who assumed the Aylesbury name in order to inherit. In 1910 Henry Aylesbury Walker Aylesbury bore:
  • Argent a cross Azure - as 1st and 4th quarters
The arms are known to be found at:
  • chapel at Laund, Leicestershire
  • church at Lodington, Leicestershire
